IN PERSON: Kombucha Home-brew for Beginners

  • The Petrichor Market 959 Fulton Street East Grand Rapids, MI, 49503 United States (map)

Originating back to Asia thousands of years ago, kombucha is now a trendy drink consumed by many for its supposed health benefits. This tangy fermented drink is brewed commercially by many companies and safely homebrewed by many, too.

During this workshop, you'll learn some history of kombucha, how to homebrew your own kombucha, rules and tips, and go home with some starter liquid and your very own SCOBY. Bring a friend to sip some kombucha while learning how to brew your own!

This workshop will be facilitated by Christina Threloff, owner and sewist behind My Lovely Muse. She has been brewing her own kombucha at home for 10 years.

***Please bring a mason jar (canning/ball jar) to take your SCOBY home. At least a quart size, though a half gallon is best. I will have some extra, if you don't have a glass jar available at home***

This workshop will be held IN PERSON at the brand new Petrichor Market in Grand Rapids. The Petrichor Market is an earth conscious shop with an amazing refillery station! They also have vintage clothing, apothecary, books, plants, gifts and more with an artist market in the back of shop to find more local, handmade gifts.

*Masks are required to wear during in person events.* Classes will be capped at 25 people.
